Appointment & Fees

My fee for a fifty minute session is $120.  I accept only checks or cash.  I can bill your insurance which can take one to two months for the initial payment and there may be a deductible to pay.

The frequency with which we meet is important to consider and discuss to find the right amount of contact with the issues so that meaningful change can take place.  I have found that for most people one session per week is the least amount of contact for progress.  Consistent week to week appointments at the same time establishes a rhythm that is best.

I charge for missed sessions unless I receive 72 hours (3 days) notice.  I do this because in my work with people what often comes up is an old instinctual tendency to protect oneself from loss by pulling away from the close intimate work.  It is important that this comes up so it can be understood and worked with rather than acted out.

My cancellation policy for people in psychoanalytic treatment (3 or 4 times per week) is different and will be explained.
